Hello world!

With half the world living in poverty and images of conflict, disease and natural disasters filling the daily news, global problems can often seem to large to tackle. But a generation of young people is demonstrating that this isn’t true.
New Global Citizens (NGC) is building a movement of young, passionate, globally minded leaders who are helping to solve the greatest challenges faced by communities around the world. Young people across the country are joining the New Global Citizens movement by forming teams on their high school campuses to play an innovative role in eradicating poverty, promoting peace and confronting some of the most complex issues faced by communities.
The New Global Citizens’ mission is to educate, equip and mobilize young people to help solve the greatest challenges faced by communities around the world. Their innovative program combines the passion, connectivity and resources of Generation Y (people born 1980-2000) with the solutions of grassroots social entrepreneurs around the world to create change on a global scale.
Young people – anywhere in the United States – can start an NGC Team on their high school campus. Once formed, teams select one of NGC’s global partner projects and set goals around three main objectives that form the core of our program. Teams determine how they will educate their community about the challenges faced by their partner project, advocate on behalf of a pressing global issue and raise the financial resources necessary to effect real change on the ground floor in their partner community.
To help teams obtain their goals, NGC provides comprehensive education, training and support to teams through full-time staff, interactive trainings, online audio streams, resource materials, site visits and a vast network of peers across the country.
By the end of the program year, NGC teams have a direct impact in communities around the world that are facing some of the greatest challenges of our time. We can only imagine the impact as these young people go on to become life-long leaders, community educators and advocates for change on a global scale.
